OPENING DAY PARADE ANNOUNCED FOR APRIL 27TH!

The Dover-Sherborn Youth Baseball & Softball Parade is on April 27th at 3:30pm. (Rain or Shine). This event is open to the community and is sure to be a fun-filled day for all with food trucks, snack bar, fastest pitch, 50/50 raffle, used equipment donations, and much more!

Major, Minor, & Softball players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills on the field after the national anthem & opening ceremony. Below are some helpful details about the day.

During Opening Day, we will also be collecting USED BASEBALL EQUIPMENT and donating it to the Boys & Girls Club. This amazing effort is being spearheaded by DS High School student, Luke Napoli. Please bring any used gloves, bats, helmets, cleats, & catcher’s gear to Opening Day and drop them in the bins set up near the snack shack. If you cannot bring the equipment, please text 508-918-0872 to arrange for home pick up.

Parade Information for Players

  •  Players are to meet at the Unitarian Church NO LATER than 3:15pm. Please do not be late. The parade is going to begin at 3:30pm.
  • Players need to wear their team uniforms. Cleats are not necessary, but if they are playing in one of the games later, they can either wear cleats or change into them before they play.
  • Players & Coaches will walk to the Jameson Field
  • For younger players, a parent is welcome to march with them if need be, but the coaches will be with them.
  • PARADE ORDER (1st to Last): Tee Ball, Beginner Softball, Junior Softball, Senior Softball, Farm League, A League, AA, AAA, Majors, Big Diamond

Parade Information for Spectators, The Parade Route, & Parking

  • The parade route starts at the Unitarian Church, takes a right down Main St, goes down the hill, over the railroad tracks, and takes the right turn down Cemetery Lane to Jameson 1.
  • Spectators are welcome to line main street and Cemetery Lane along the parade route.
  • PARKING will be available at Jameson Field parking lots, Pine Hill School, Sherborn Town Hall, & the lot across from the Pilgrim Church.
  • Parking will NOT be available along the parade route.

Schedule of Events

3:30pm -- Parade Begins
4:00pm – Teams, Families, & Spectators gather around Jameson 1

  • Introduction of the Day & Welcome Remarks
  • National Anthem
  • First Pitch Ceremony

4:30pm – Majors & Minors & Softball Exhibition Games

  • Majors on Jameson 1 – Mets/A’s vs. Padres/Red Sox
  • Minors on Jameson 2 – A’s/Padres vs. Red Sox Mets
  • Softball on Jameson 3

(The baseball games will be coach pitch and once each player gets one AB, the games can be over)

While this is all going on, we encourage all spectators to enjoy the food trucks, ice cream, and snack shack! Players are also invited to participate in the fastest pitch by the batting cage.
