DSYBS Jr/Sr Teams to Join Needham Travel League
Junior/Senior League Baseball 13 to 16 years old (March 2023 Info Update)
DSYBS is excited to share that we have partnered with Needham Youth Baseball for our Junior/Senior league division. The league includes over 10 teams, with 2 currently representing Dover/Sherborn and the balance coming from Needham, Wellesley, and Brookline. Depending on the weather we should expect to play 10-12 games, with home games at Jameson in Sherborn and away games in those other towns. All games will be played on a High School / MLB sized diamond with distances of 60’6” for pitching and 90’ on the base paths.
Games are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of APRIL 10TH. We know that some players will be concerned about conflicts with their club teams. All games will be played on weekdays from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Coaches will allow pitchers to maintain their regular routine for their club teams and only pitch when they are willing and can do so safely.
In addition, with DSYBS now a part of Little League of America, we will be able to bring a Summer Select team to the National Tournament which is much like the Williamsport Tournament but for older kids... with local, state, regional, and national finals. We hope this is a very exciting element of the Junior/Senior League program that the kids will enjoy.
Registration is open until MARCH 30th and teams will be finalized by March 31st. There will be a group practice at Jameson 4 in Sherborn for all registrants the weekend of April 1st-2nd.
Eligibility: Players achieve the age of 13 on or after August 31 of the year of play (current year) and are no older than the age of 16 on or prior to April 30 of the next year.

| DSYBS Joins Little League of America

The DSYBS Board is thrilled to announce that we have officially chartered with Little League of America!
We received our approval following a multi-week process that required DSYBS to update and modernize many facets of the organization; from establishing our first Constitution to updating our status with state and federal non-profit offices.
Little League Baseball and Softball is played in approximately 6,500 communities across more than 80 countries around the world, but regardless of where they are played, each of them share the same core mission. Little League believes in the power of youth baseball and softball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities. Joined together by one common goal, every local league is part of One Team. One Little League.
This is a new chapter in the long history of DSYBS, and we are excited to update all members in our community with details on expanded programming and opporutnities for our youth!
