SPRING YOUTH BASEBALL
Overview
Dover-Sherborn offers six levels of competition ranging from first grade to eighth grade. All players interested in participating will be placed on a team. Second through eighth grade will participate in a try-out. The try-outs are an opportunity to assess each player’s ability in an effort to balance teams. All teams will be balanced to ensure fairness and equality among the teams within a division.
Spring 1st Grade Baseball is open to Dover and Sherborn residents in grade 1 only. This league is a coach-pitch program which transitions players from Tball to Baseball. After registration closes, new players may register to be placed on a wait list. Wait-listed players are not guaranteed to be able to play. Those on the wait list will be notified if a slot opens.
Teams participate in a division based on the player’s grade. Divisions are grades 2, 3, 4, grades 5 & 6; and grades 7 & 8.Spring Season Baseball is open to Dover and Sherborn residents in grades 2 through 10. Your player is eligible to play in a Spring league based on the current school grade; please be sure your family information is correct. Baseball Leagues are as follows: A (Grade 2), AA (Grade 3), AAA (Grade 4), Majors (Grades 5 & 6) and Babe Ruth (Grades 7 and above.) DSHS baseball players are not eligible to play Spring Season DSYBS Babe Ruth Baseball. Players trying-out for DSHS baseball may register and then withdraw if they are selected to play for DSHS. After registration closes, players may register to be placed on a wait list. Wait-listed players are not guaranteed to be able to play. Those on the wait list will be notified if a slot opens up.
Registration Deadline
Registration opens January 21, 2010 and runs through February 28th. A late fee of $50 will be charged for registrations that occur after February 28th.
